The site is situated In Tskneti, a little town just up the hill from Tbilisi, within 8 kilometers - a four-season resort with a well-developed infrastructure.
Deeply embedded into the constructivist tradition, the house articulates its presence with a powerful architectural language. Set in a slightly undulating landscape surrounded by temperate broadleaf forest, the three-story semi-detached house stands on the promontory land. Twelve diaphragmatic horizontally stretched pillars represent the building's fundamental core, which bears two bridged boxes cantilevered from both sides of the major structure. These rectangular boxes soaring above the trees provide panoramic views over the surrounding forest and suburban settlement. With its strict geometry and aesthetic details, the building reminisces of the modernist era yet mirrors contemporary architectural trends.
The building plan is characterized by lavish, open spaces that subtly merge into one another and express the desire for synergy with the environment. The ground floor accommodates a common room, a dining room, and a kitchen, separated by a stairwell cut between two diaphragms. In its own right, using this stairwell creates a unique architectural experience as we move from the ground floor piano nobile towards the most intimate and private spaces, the bedrooms.
Essential architectural aesthetics of the exterior are also present in the interior. Along with the spatial distribution and interchangeability of the material, furniture plays a crucial role in shaping the inner spaces. The first floor combines two main areas: the pool platform and the living space enclosed by glass walls. Once the glass doors are open in the summertime, the indoors meets the outdoors, creating an open, accessible platform. With its openness and spatial arrangement, the ground level creates a very atmospheric setting and provides emotive comfort. The applied material, balanced, bold colors, and delicate parallel lines bring diversity and aesthetic freedom to the residence.
By experimenting with modern, contemporary, and classical elements, we created homely and vibrant spaces that excite and bring comfort to its inhabitants. Colors, patterns, textures, lighting, and furniture are all handpicked and carefully selected to achieve a design that can stand the test of time.
