The site is situated In Tskneti, a little town just up the hill from Tbilisi, within 8 kilometers - a four-season resort with a well-developed infrastructure.
The house is designed as a summer residency for one family. The whole concept revolves around the simplicity of the volume, which translates into a compact and plain form. The house is rectangular in plan and constructed in concrete, occupying a discrete plot of 10 x 10m. Three bedrooms and a bathroom are spread on the second floor while the first floor provides a kitchen and a living room.
The natural elevation of the terrain turned out advantageous, allowing us to place the building at the very top. The house is reachable via the broad staircase starting from the lowest point of the plot. The green atrium along the way facilitates the climb.
Our principal goal was to create an open yet intimate dwelling that harmonizes with the surrounding context. The large rectangular openings of the structure bring plentiful light into the space and encourage ventilation.
