Nestled within an urban context in the heart of Tbilisi on Rustaveli Ave. the Apart-Hotel subtly extends and complements the existing architectural landscape. Its form is contemporary and forward-thinking, with a clean, simple aesthetic.
Our challenge was to find the right form and material to do justice to this uncompromising location with its cultural heritage. After a lot of contemplation, we chose a plain, canvas-like facade as the medium. The unpretentious yet sturdy facade, silicon-coated glass fabric, is dust-resistant, easily ventilated, and protects the interior from ultraviolet rays, wind, and rain.
This robust, sustainable solution has excellent light transmission qualities, resulting in a bright, open space that is adaptable to the times of the day. The facade is white, opaque like an empty canvas, giving the viewers complete freedom to imagine and re-imagine the building in the direct sunlight. Upon sundown, with the change of light, perception of the building changes dramatically, giving way to the indoor lighting. The hotel opens up to the street; the facade becomes transparent, bringing to the fore the nightlife within.

This approach, where we preserve the traditional form and introduce the modern construction techniques, creates a contemporary and sustainable hotel that sits comfortably in its surroundings.
Through sensitive design and careful planning, we developed this four-story building into a unique Apart Hotel that affords 5 spacious apartments, a beautiful lobby, and a lush hidden courtyard.
The first floor is dedicated to the lobby area, inspiring visitors to pause, play, and communicate. The apartments are spread on the remaining three floors, each being 380 sq. meters, with a private terrace and recreational area.
