Ozurgeti House of Justice Brings together numerous services under one roof - the Civil Registry Agency, National Agency of Public Registry, National Archives of Georgia, National Bureau of Enforcement, and Notary Chamber - and creates a new blueprint of a government building. Located in the small town of Ozurgeti, The Museum of History borders the House of Justice to the south and a 400-seat theater to the east. The old staircase running under the theater was preserved and is still functional.
The form, inspired by ancient Greek temple typology, is held together by symmetrical columns, with two free-standing low-emission glass structures sandwiched between flat surfaces. The rectangular structure contains a public service hall and offices, while the oval structure incorporates a Wedding Hall and offices. Both volumes are two-story buildings connected with an underground corridor. The top horizontal plane made of reinforced concrete acts as a common roof for both volumes; the lower horizontal plane acts as a common platform and public space, finished with travertine.
The space created between the frames creates a pathway connecting the city boulevard and the main square. The white color and lightness of the volume reinforce the idea of transparency and accessibility.
