Noble Savage is a nightclub located beneath Rose Revolution Square in the heart of Tbilisi, Georgia.
The facility is part of the underground communal complex built in the 1980s by Georgian architects Otar (Tony) Kalandarishvili and Gaioz Potskhishvili, but it was never completed.
The concept to re-create and re-purpose a part of the underground complex into a nightclub was initiated by the client. Not just a club, was translated into the transformation of the space into a place, for the international tribe comprised of people who match each other in their interests, talents, tastes, attitudes, and erudition.
Because the architecture and spirit of the space themselves were fascinating, our goal was to have minimal intervention leaving the layout, character, and architectural elements of the space, but to reorganize the circulation and create an interior design integrated with the existing elements.
The mosaic on the wall was left untouched and became one of the most inspiring spots of the location.
