Imagine green valleys and snowy mountains, pebble seashore and wild lake. Imagine you sit there reading your favorite book that accompanies you through your life or a brand new bestseller which can probably become your next favorite book. Imagine the smell of dewy grass and the sounds of mountain eagles… Imagine all that is going on during the Frankfurt Book Fair in the Georgian Pavilion – a Guest of Honor Country 2018.

Frankfurt Book Fair is far more than just an event dedicated to books and the publishing industry. It has become a place and a happening that presents the culture of different countries and helps people to discover and explore countries as fully as possible. Especially for a Guest of Honor country, participation is a great chance to bring all the best from the country to a vast audience of book lovers and professionals, to mass media and travelers, to everyone who seeks to find something new and valuable for their own development and education.

The concept of the Georgian pavilion is based on this kind of perception of the event. It derives from the fact that Georgia which only now becomes acknowledged in the world has to show all that it is made of. Reading is first of all a pleasure and a certain way of meditation. It is a double pleasure when done in the beautiful surroundings of nature. Nature in Georgia is very often depicted in literature as a character.

Nature is something that makes the country so attractive and distinguished. So, it was very logical for us that language, literature, and nature should come together when presenting the country to a huge audience at the Frankfurt Book Fair.
